Description
Traditional Round South African Zulu shields date back to King Shaka Zulu and have been used by tribesman in battle for hundred of years. As the modern world has evolved so to has the Zulu tribesman. These shields are no longer used in battle but instead used for traditional Zulu ceremonies such as weddings in telling historic ancestry stories. These carved wood designs painted in bold black and white patterns continue to have a striking modern form displayed in groupings. Each may vary slightly due to unique hand carvings. Comes with hook attached on back for hanging on wall. Antique white finish.
