Description
Rafal Oblinski is a Polish painter born in 1943. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1981 Rafal emigrated to the United States were he quickly became a renowned painter, illustrator and designer. For his outstanding work, Rafal has received more than 150 awards including the gold and silver medals awarded by the Society of Illustrators of New York and Los Angelos. Olbinski’s works can be found in numerous public prestigious collections in New York, Washington and Osaka as well as in private collections in the United States, Japan and Europe. Between 2002 and 2010 certain of Rafael Olbinski’s pieces were selected to be projected at the Grand Central Terminal of New York during Earth day. The selected artists before him were Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring. His compositions have been on the covers of several magazines and they have served as posters of the Metropolitan Opera of New York and La Scala of Milan.
