Description
This sculpture in brown patina regula depicts Pierrot and Columbine, two emblematic figures of Italian comedy, interacting with a crescent moon. The piece captures Pierrot reaching for the moon while Columbine sits playing the mandolin. The crescent moon is an integral part of the composition, enriching the narrative of the scene.
The work rests on several layers of marble in varying shades of turquoise blue, portor and Valencian yellow, testifying to quality materials and refined craftsmanship. The combination of materials and the romantic Commedia Dell’Arte theme make this sculpture an interesting representation of the Art Deco period.
