Description
Fragment is an original etching, realized by the Italian contemporary master, Gaetano Pompa. In good conditions. Like all his artworks, the artist tried to revive the poetry of the past through his airy and distant atmosphere and his ambiguous and sometimes paradoxical figures, creating a series of suggestions that overlap with the insistence of memories, mixing past and present with a visionary enchanting faculty. Gaetano Pompa (1933 – 1998) The Italian artist Gaetano Pompa begins his artistic career after the war conflict, in Rome, where he moves with his family to start his studies and to paint and engrave. From 1958 to 1961 he lived in Munich, in the Schwabing district, carrying out intense artistic activity and participating with great passion in the musical life of the Bavarian city. Back in Italy he married Dorothea Leendertz, known in Germany, with whom he had five children. Since then Gaetano Pompe has lived and operated in Rome and since 1970 between Ansedonia and Orbetello.
