Description

A stunning piece, this lamp has been made from an antique Burmese offering bowl or Hsun Ok in the form of the large stupa of the Buddhist temple. Made with layers of lacquer over wood. Black lacquer is first applied, with several further layers of lacquer coloured in vermilion. Recently upgraded with a modern braided cable and UK plug (I can swap this for a US plug at no extra cost). The Hsun OK dates from the late 19th century and was originally converted around the middle of the last century. There is a chip on the base but overall good condition. 46cm to the top of the bulb holder.
