Description
Original Lithograph XI is an amazing color lithograph on paper, realized in 1974 by Joan Miro for the second volume of his catalog “Mir Lithographe” This artwork is the last original lithographed plate of a print collection composed by eleven original lithographs and an original lithographed cover by the Spanish master. Two additional lithographed plate were reserved for the deluxe edition, with an edition of 150 specimens. Reference: Mir Lithographe III, Maeght Editeur, Paris, pag. 32 In excellent conditions, this contemporary artwork could be a part of your precious collection! While Joan Mir (1893-1983) rejected any formal association with movements or groups, including the Surrealists, Andr Breton recognized him as the most Surrealist of us all. His artistic approach encouraged the free play of associations, and envisaged accidents to provoke reactions closely connected to subconscious experiences. Mirs famous motifs consist of freely reshaped fragments cut from catalogs for machinery on canvases to form black silhouettes solid or in outline, with dramatic accents of white and red.
