Children is a black and white lithograph on paper, realized by the Italian artist, Gabriele De Stefano (1936). Hand-signed in pencil on lower margin and numbered in pencil on lower left margin. From an edition of 50 prints. In excellent conditions, our original printrepresents two children probably behind a glass door waiting for their mother with a bouquet of flowers. Their mocking gaze could reveal something they try to hide. ”Children” is a perfect and rare example of De Stefano’s production before his Amazonian experience. Gabriele De Stefano (Reggio Calabria 1936) Gabriele De Stefano is an eclectic Italian painter and set designer. His works are characterized by a turning point in 1960s, marked by the decision of living in South America between the Indios Yanomami Community in Amazonia. The artworks realized before the Amazonian experience are more realistic and less fantastic that the contemporary ones.
