Description
This stunning vintage mirror of Chivas Regal scotch whisky is a collectible item from the Aberdeen, Scotland distillery. It can be used as an advertising piece or wall art in a bar or pub.
The mirror features vibrant, bold fonts in fabulous colours, with the royal crest in the middle and an intricate golden border. It is presented in a dark-colored wooden frame and is in excellent vintage condition with signs of authentic patina.
Chivas Brothers has a long history that dates back to 1801, when John Forrest established a grocery and wine merchant in Aberdeen. The business was then passed on to William Edward, and in 1838, James Chivas joined the company. In 1909, Chivas Regal, a 25-year-old luxury blend, was introduced, quickly becoming a popular choice in the USA.
Seagram Co, a Canadian drinks giant, saw the success of Chivas Regal and acquired Chivas Brothers in 1949, including the Strathisla distillery in Keith the following year. In 1957, a sister distillery named Glen Keith was built near Strathisla, and the Keith Bond was developed as a maturation and blending facility, gradually expanding over time. To meet the growing demand for whisky in the 1970s, Chivas constructed the All-a-Bhainne and Braes of Glenlivet (now Braeval) distilleries to provide additional malt capacity.
