Optimistic fifties coat rack by Pilastro ( Netherlands ) Typical hallmarks are the primary colors and the perforated iron sheet metal. This item is also known as the ‘Toonladder’ ( Musical scale ).
Takes hardly any space and would look great in an industrial minded or artistic space.
Dutch company Pilastro ( Zwanenburg ) became succesfull during the fifties, producing small furniture. Together with Tomado, Cadovius and Pastoe, Pilastro was the leader on the market for metal household furniture. The pilastro coat racks are pictured in the 1960ies ‘Goed Wonen’ decorating magazine.
