Description
This lattice panel, crafted from elm, was part of an internal room divider in Zhejiang province, eastern China, circa 1880. Its three panels feature a scrolling pattern with individual wood sections, and a rectangular section with a man and woman in deep carved relief on the main central panel. On the bottom panel, three characters are depicted using scooped carving.
